The Lewis J. Ort Library participates as a member of the State Publications Depository and Distribution Program (SPDDP). This program ensures that all Maryland citizens have free and easy access to the publications created by state agencies with public funds. The program identifies, collects, distributes, and lists Maryland state publications as they are produced for the information and use of Marylanders.
Many major state documents are incorporated into the library's main collections in the Reference and Stacks areas. These can be found by searching OneSearch or directly through the catalog.
Other documents, particularly those in pamphlet form, are not cataloged, but can be found in the Maryland State Documents filling cabinets in the Government Documents section of the library on the 2nd floor. Items received prior to 2016 are filed according to the publishing agency. Items received in 2016 and after Please check with a Government Documents staff member or Reference Librarian if you need assistance finding any state document.

Printed reports dated up to approximately 2013, can be found by accessing the online catalog.
Print copies from approximately 2013 onward are available in Maryland Documents, and are retained for 5 years. These reports are also available online.
