MLA citation style was created by the Modern Language Association. It is most commonly used for citing sources in the Humanities, which includes: Art, Architecture, Literature, English, History, etc.
APA citation style was created by the American Psychological Association Association. It is most commonly used for citing sources in the Social Sciences, which includes: Psychology, Sociology, Education, etc. It is also often used in Business courses.
Chicago citation style was created by the University of Chicago. It is commonly used for citing sources in History and occasionally in the Humanities, Sciences, and Social Sciences. Many Philosophy and History classes at FSU require this style. Chicago style has two formats:

You can add all types of sources to a citation manager—like articles, books, interviews, videos, and more. Many citation managers offer plugins or extensions so you can quickly add sources from library databases, catalogs, and websites from within a browser. Once you have sources added, you can then organize them within the citation manager using tags, lists, and folders. Then, with the click of a button, you can often add those sources as citations within your paper, and at the end of your paper, generate a reference list automatically!
