Use ILLiad (Interlibrary Loan) to obtain research articles from journals not owned by the Ort Library. Just follow the yellow "Find It" button in OneSearch or the databases!
For physical holds placed within the USMAI consortium (aka our catalog), it is approximately a 3-5 business day wait for the item to arrive here. However, it usually happens faster than that but largely depends on the University it is coming from and their shipping methods.
For ILL items, approximately a week or more for a physical item to arrive but, there are a lot of variables to that as well. Most libraries in ILL ship items via USPS which is a slower processing time, the FSU mail room only delivers on Mon, Wed, and Fri and it also depends on where it's coming from. @OrtLibrary receives items from all over the country.
Electronic articles from ILL can be filled quickly, usually the day it is processed (not the day a patron places the request). However, there are once again variables based on the request itself and an exact timeframe cannot be provided.
