George A. Meyers Collection

George A. Meyers (1912-1999) was a Lonaconing native who was instrumental in organizing the Textile Worker's Union at the Celanese Corp. plant near Cumberland in 1935 and served as Maryland Labor Secretary for the Communist Party of America (CPUSA) from 1965 until his death in 1999. He spent his life and career advocating for the rights of worker's, women, and people of color. This collection contains digitized photos donated by the Meyers' family the depict his trips around the world, protests, and family photos. 

J. Glenn Beall Collection

J. Glenn Beall Jr. (1927-2006) was born and raised in Cumberland, Maryland. He served as minority floor leader in the Maryland House of Delegates from 1963-1968, he was elected to the 91st Congress in 1969, and then, in 197) he was elected to the United States Senate. The Beall family have been donating materials since the 1970's. This collection contains photos, advertisements, speeches, and press releases pertaining to their various political careers.

Potomac Valley Television/TCI Collection - Public Officials

This collection contains photographs of public officials and local businesses and events throughout Western Maryland, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania between the 1950's and 1980's for Potomac Valley Television/TCI (formerly based in Cumberland, MD.). The digitized photos were donated to Frostburg State University in 2023 by Albert and Angela Feldstein. These photos depict Frostburg and Cumberland City Council meetings, local officials, and politicians.
