The Library building is currently closed.

Ort Library librarians and staff will continue to provide services and resources listed on this page.

Follow us on Twitter (@LibFSU), Facebook (@OrtLibrary) and Instagram (@frostburg_library) for updates.

Due Dates, Fines, Returns, ILL

Due Dates:

  • Due dates for ALL currently checked out Frostburg library items have been advanced to September 1, 2020.
  • If you have items from other USMAI libraries, log into My Account  and go to "Items borrowed/renewals" to check the status of the due date and renew items from other USMAI libraries as needed.
  • If you are not able to renew your materials online through MyAccount, please contact Amanda Bena, Access Services Librarian, at albena@frostburg.edu.

Fines and Late Fees:

  • We are not charging fines or late fees at this time. If you have any questions about library charges, please contact Amanda Bena, Access Services Librarian, at albena@frostburg.edu.

Book Returns:

  • Book returns are open. There is one next to the main entrance doors set into the windows and a drive up free standing return box behind the building at the loading dock. There will be a delay between when you return an item and when it is scanned in as returned. You will not be fined any late fees.

InterLibrary Loan (ILL):

  • We have requested renewals for all current interlibrary loans that are with our patrons. Given the circumstances, most libraries are granting renewals and due date extensions, but we cannot guarantee it in every case.
  • Students, faculty, and staff are welcome to continue placing interlibrary loan requests via ILLiad. Library staff are currently able to fulfill requests for electronically available articles, ebooks, and book chapters. We are not able to borrow physical materials like books and DVD’s until the library reopens, but we may be able to get scans or locate free online versions of materials. For questions about interlibrary loan requests or your ILLiad account, please contact ill@frostburg.edu.
