Requesting Resources

Requesting Sources Not Available in the Library

The FSU Ort Library may not have access to all the resources you need and not everything is available for free online. There are two ways to request sources you are not able to find as full text in SearchCat or the library databases.

  • Interlibrary Loan: Request resources, especially research articles not available as full text in SearchCat or in the library research databases.
  • Request From Another Institution: Request a print book you find in SearchCat from another University System of Maryland library if it is not located in the FSU Ort Library.

About Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) lets you request resources, especially full-text research articles, that are not available through the FSU Ort Library's collections or databases. You can request these sources you find in SearchCat or through the yellow Find It button in the individual databases. You can also directly access the Interlibrary Loan ILLiad from the library website.

To register and use Interlibrary Loan, your 14-digit library barcode ID number is required. The following video will help with Interlibrary Loan:
