SearchCat

Discover Library & Scholarly Resources with SearchCat

SearchCat provides simple, one-stop searching for books, eBooks, videos, articles, digital media, and more that are available to you from the Frostburg State University library and beyond!

How does it work? SearchCat crawls the library catalog and most of the library research databases all at the same time to fetches the results for you. You can limit your search results to specific formats like articles from peer-reviewed journals after you start searching.

Search everything from the SearchCat box below:

Sign in to SearchCat for all the perks!

The SearchCat search box is also located at the top of the FSU Ort Library homepage

Once you enter SearchCat, it is recommended that you sign in with your FSU email and password in order to:

  • View full search results (Some databases indexed in SearchCat only show their full-text article results after you've signed in)
  • Create lists of the favorite resources you've found (to come back to later!)
  • Export citations to the free Mendeley Reference Manager
  • Renew your checked-out books online

Requesting Resources with Interlibrary Loan

About Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) lets you request resources, especially full-text research articles, that are not available through the FSU Ort Library's collections or databases. You can request these sources you find through the yellow Find It button in the individual databases. Interlibrary Loan is not fully operational yet through the new library search tool SearchCat, but there are simple workarounds for that!
